The Flying Squirrel

Japanese · Fusion · Bistro
Tucked away from the bustle of the CBD in an alleyway along Amoy Street, The Flying Squirrel is a hole-in-the-wall hideout, fast building a reputation as a secret, yet cosy place that people come to when in search of food, coffee, or a casual drink. Inspired by the love of travel, coffee, art, music and Japanese food, The Flying Squirrel has an intriguing story behind it, stringing together fragments of New York, Melbourne, Tokyo and homebase, Singapore.

The menu offers Japanese-inspired cuisine that ranges from fresh cuts of sashimi, handmade sushi and lunch bento sets, steeped in tradition, to some twists on familiar favorites, such as Truffle Ebi Fry, Uni Shooters and Udon Pasta. The establishment also has options for the more health-conscious individuals, such as Cha Soba (Green Tea Noodles), served with vegetable makis and inari sushi and holds an array of salads like Crab and Avocado, lined with Lotus Root chips. The menu also doesn't fall short on signature dishes such as the TFS Chirashi and TFS Maki, which feature a generous assortment of sashimi.
