COO Bistro

Catering to both travellers and locals in a neighbourhood that embodies the quintessential local experience, COO Bistro plays up on its ‘Glocal’, Social and Playful aspect of the brand in its menu creation. True to what real food should be, fresh ingredients are used and sauces and dips are house made from scratch. Opened daily (except Tuesday), the bistro serves up two menus, an All-Day-Brunch Menu and a Dinner Menu, the latter offering a more refined choice of mains.

The locally inspired dishes include the Tiong Bahru Platter ($28), a medley of succulent grilled chicken with house-made satay sauce, a 12-hour slow-cooked crispy roasted pork belly, salt and pepper barramundi and mackerel keropok, as well as COO’s Prawn Noodles ($18), a hearty dish of fettuccine spiced with house-made chilli sauce and grilled tiger prawns.

The menu also features universal favourites like the Pork Cheek Capellini ($18), rich and tender pork cheek in spiced jus capellini served with a 62 degrees hen's egg, and COO’s Pressed Sandwich ($21), an assembly of tender beef hangar steak and air-cured beef in hot pressed ciabatta, seasoned with house-made onion chilli jam and melted Gruyere cheese.

The local essence follows through to the dessert menu as the bistro serves up a playful take on a local favourite, the Tiong Bahru ‘Chwee Kuey’ ($9), a dessert of panna cotta with candied walnut and balsamic strawberries assembled to look like the traditional ‘chwee kuey’ dish complete with ‘chai po’ (preserved turnip) and chilli. COO Bistro also offers a house signature, the COO Quencher ($8), a concoction of refreshing yuzu with freshly squeezed lemon juice, acacia honey and apple mint to round up the dining experience.

Catering to the daytime café-hopping crowd, the bistro also serves up a wide selection of brunch classics like Thick Toasts (from $6) with a choice of toppings and sides, a house-made Granola ($12), Shakshouka ($16), as well as sweets like an irresistible selection of freshly baked waffles, including the Grilled Burnt Banana Waffle ($13) served with grilled bananas, house-made rum raisin sauce and a scoop of peanut butter ice cream. Rounding up the brunch offerings, COO Bistro serves up handcrafted coffee with roasts by the Dutch Colony Coffee Company.
