Chimichanga

Named after the deep-fried burrito, Chimichanga is a new Mexican eatery tucked away in a conservation shophouse along Dunlop Street (Little India). The menu is typical of any Tex-Mex eatery with offerings like the eponymous chimichanga, burritos, quesadillas, and tacos — all at $10 a pop. The hearty mains allow for some level of customisation with a choice of pork, beef, or chicken filling.

One of the star bites here is the battered and deep-fried Jalapeno pops ($10) with warm gooey cheese filling. The quesadilla with a pork filling was also a highlight, with cheese, salsa, and a slightly crisp wrap coming together harmoniously.

Beers run the gamut of the usual suspects with choices like Hoegaarden and Stella Artois but you're better off sipping on Mexican cocktails like Mezcal Magarita ($16).
